R. Adriel Vasquez is a Texas native born in 1982. He has never had a southern accent, and he knows about twenty Spanish words, fourteen of which are numbers. He currently lives in Amsterdam.

NEVER IN SEASON, ALWAYS ON TIME

Adriel moved to Prague in 2006 for a year. He left 15 years later. His experience in Czech Republic is exaggerated somewhat in 5 Cigarettes::. A Book About Love, Music, Sex, Death, and Rebirth, his self-published novel available circa Adriel's twentieth year abroad in August 2026.

Meanwhile, Adriel is finishing a "baby 5 Cigarettes" called Tsukiko, also a narrative non-fiction account of synchronicities which led him from Prague to Amsterdam to Paris to Tokyo.

As Spirit Cycles, Adriel mixes field recordings with synth-produced noise and undisciplined rhythms.

Adriel now lives in Amsterdam where he makes a living as a technical writer while casting spells, mostly on himself.

He also takes pictures.
